in my humanities class, we're getting into greek and egyptian mythology... anyway, these two (the sky goddess and earth god) are always depicted like this. with her spread above him (like a crescent, ya know?) and him sitting back, looking up at her. obviously they're egyptian.
they fell in love but were forbidden to get hitched within the 360 days of the year. so they went to another god for help and got him to add 5 days to the year. they got seriously busy and had a child for each of the 5 days.
BURDGE_BUG!!! this drawing is extraordinarily AWSOME!!!!! have you ever thought of reading the Kane Chronicles??? hope you read it, because your drawings of it would be PERFECTIN in person!!

O.o You've read Egyptian mythology too? You certainly are well-rounded in your literature! I love how you've pictured them here. Their story is sad but sweet at the same time.
oh yeah, ra, the sun god and king, heard a prophecy saying that on day a child of nut (ha,child of nut)would over through him, so he said that she could not have her children any day of the year when he learned nut was pregnant. So nut (i cannot get over her name) went to khonsu, the moon good, and gambled so much moonlight from him that she was able to create five more days to the year, the days she had her children
